We often create and compose individual music projects and then contribute to the recording and production of each other’s work. Here are some albums that we have written together, one of us bouncing melodies off the words of the other, or one pulling songs out of the other’s musical harmonies. Occasionally the wind will carry a lyric and tune to our ears at the same time. These albums have been inspired by some of the travels and experiences that we have shared, or by recognitions we have both reached about ways of interpreting a human relationship with ancestry and the spirit of the landscape. They inevitably take on a different flavour from the solo music that we compose, sometimes slipping into a traditional Celtic or medieval style, sometimes carrying us into energetic jig and reel, soulful lament and lullaby, earthy prayer and ritual dance. Ancient folk music seems as good as term as any to catch the taste of these songs.
