Her inspiration is sourced from the ancient moors where she lives, from travels into other landscapes to share her work and from the honouring of women’s sacred and mystical hearth fires.
This collection includes personal notes, guidance on crafting each song, simple music scripts for tune, harmony and chord, as well as one hundred colour photos of shrines and prayer places created within the wild sanctuary of a Dartmoor hill farm. The songs are arranged into thirteen chapters, colour-coded for ease of searching and woven through with images and melodies. The lyrics are drawn from all Carolyn’s albums, including songs co-created with Nigel Shaw.
