Sister Blanket tea towel as a symbol of peace and compassion, hope and protection.

We published the very popular Sister Blanket tea towel 8 years ago and since then have raised thousands of pounds for women’s projects and campaigns. We are now offering a new version of this charter of womankindness in the Russian language. This new edition has been created by 48 women from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. The project was part of their year-long online journey together, guided by Carolyn and Elena Ratnichkina, with the Russian language edition of the Weavers’ Oracle. Work on the sister blanket translation was nearing completion when the war in Ukraine began in February 2022 so the women worked hard to finish the project quickly, including designing the five clan symbols that decorate the cloth. The fourth symbol on the cloth was created by the Ukrainian women and means mercy. You can find the English version of this text here. Two words have been added to the original version:

39. Inspiration is our resonance, we uplift each other`s souls, charge each other to create passionately together
40. Joy of being part of the sisters’ circle; the joy of having fun, creating, living this life together, helping other sisters and making the journey together with them

The Ukrainian, Russian and Belarusian sisters see this small cloth as a symbol of hope and protection during challenging and frightening times. It has enabled them to anchor their own connection and strengthen their mutual support, reaching across barriers and separation and isolation. We are selling this tea towel to raise funds, all profits going towards supporting Ukrainian refugees from the war through the Disasters Emergency Committee.

These are beautiful unbleached organic tea towels printed with the Russian text. We would like to thank the printers, Countryside Art of Lincolnshire, for their generous financial assistance and support for this project.

We invite you to pray for peace through a tea towel.
