December 21 @ 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm
At midsummer we launched our two new albums at Rattery Hall on the eastern edge of Dartmoor. It was such a beautiful evening with plenty of room to dance and feast and celebrate – so good in fact that the next day we changed our planned midwinter concert venue so we could make a return visit to Rattery!
So, there we will be, to honour the winter magic, and we hope you are able to come and join us. We are planning an extended winter solstice evening celebration with special guest musicians, supper and snacks provided by Earthwise Kitchen, warming beverages and spiced wine, a small market with work by local artists and crafts people, plus other wintry delights.
The doors open at 6.30pm with time for you to sample some supper before the music starts at 7pm. The first musical offerings will be from two wonderful Dartmoor-based musicians (details to be revealed soon!) then a set of honouring songs by us, followed by an hour of celebratory dancing music. There will be two intervals, allowing plenty of time for supping the food and sampling the wares. We will aim to end around 10.45pm.
Winter Solstice ceremony – you are invited to contribute to our collective winter prayer by bringing a single stem of evergreen (holly, ivy, conifer) to add to the simple solstice song ritual.
