The Braided River Confluence of Women

11th September 2021 @ 9:00 am 10:00 pm

CREATED & HOSTED ON DARTMOOR BY CAROLYN HILLYER

January update: We are flowing onward again and have just anchored our new date for this event. We will now be gathering on SEPTEMBER 11 Saturday for the BRAIDED RIVER CONFLUENCE and SEPTEMBER 12 Sunday for the SALMON SISTERS & APPRENTICE WOMEN CIRCLE. We are hoping that this date change will enable us all to gather without restrictions and allow our international sisters to attend. We will be emailing all registered participants to  check if you would like to continue with your booking.  Further ticket sales will resume on February 1. Meanwhile please contact Carolyn by email if you would like to be on the reserve list for a ticket. Please note that we are still updating our programme for the weekend, so details below may change.

We are born from the hollows smooth and dark
We are born from the waters wild and free
We are born from the storms and the rolling winds
We are born from the soul of our mothers’ songs…

You are invited to join this gathering of sisters to share a braiding of our courage and hope, an infusion of our dreams and clear intent, a confluence of intuitive and wise waters.

Our thirteen hour journey together will include presentations, workshops, song, drum, ceremony, mythic tales, making totems, wild dancing and a riverbank of women’s craft & art all held within our symbolic and sacred House of Rivers.

The Confluence programme includes
Four workshop sessions guided by Carolyn Hillyer: When We Are Thorn, When We Are Willow, When We Are Oak, When We Are Fire.

Powerful and inspiring presentations by Salmon Sisters and Braided River Apprentices: From Ocean To River ~ From Hill Stream To Sea

Wildsong sessions: Sing Your Heart Out ~ Drum Up A Storm

Sacred craft circle: Making A Bone Prayer

Evening ceremony: Drumming Our Path Through The Heron’s Marsh

Evening music & dancing with Denis Rowe and The Earth Dance Drummers ~ women’s powerful drum rhythms drawn from African and ancient traditions with Denise leading us in the wild dance

Closing concert with Carolyn: Wild Litany ~ an offering of new and vintage songs and shared chants
