NEWS
FROM THE WORKSHOPS Winter 2011
DRUMS
Carolyn is currently taking commissioned orders for delivery
end of March - April 2011. At the moment we do not have
horse skin in stock but there will be more available from
March onwards. The production of the Dartmoor red deer skin
has changed this winter and is now being done on site by
the deer herder, almost all by hand. Our first batch of
new skins has just been completed, some of which will be
used for the drum making workshop in May.
FLUTES
Nigel is currently taking orders for flutes: woods available
include holly, yew, dark oak, lacewood, alder and others.
We have recently felled some sycamore at the farm which
has produced some beautiful stippled timber for flutes.
This will be dried during 2011 and will be ready for flute
orders the following year. At the moment we are looking
out for good birch wood or rowan so if you know of any available,
please let us know!
